Home Renovations

Project Details

This month’s property feature has taken me to a prestigious residential drive in Pedmore. We are no strangers to the residence here having worked on many of the lovely properties; this is actually how we came to meet our lovely new customers. One of our fitting teams was spotted doing work on a neighbouring house then the couple visited our showroom, met Mike and instantly hit it off!

The couple purchased the near derelict bungalow about three years ago, lived in the property for about a year before starting any work. They renovated in stages enabling them to live in on site throughout and project manage the build. A local architect drew up extension plans and reconfigured the layout to accommodate the family. As soon as you walk into this property it is apparent the home has been designed specifically to suit this family’s day to day living, this has given a real sense of character and an effortless homely feel.

BEFORE & AFTER

Project Details

It is clear the renovation has been done to a high standard, the customers loved getting involved with the design aspect and had a clear vision of creating a modern home with an individual twist, this has been achieved with the simple neutral decor throughout and investment pieces such as the bespoke oak staircase and feature window. All details and accessories have been completed to a high standard with the beautiful stylish kitchen and fashionable plantation shutters upstairs. Much of the inspiration came from general interiors research, a natural sense of style and visiting the Grand Designs show.

Project Details

An ongoing giggle with our director Mike is the decision to go with the black uPVC foil internally and externally. This was a hesitation for Mike and an absolute must for the customer as she clearly had her mind set on this feature. Mike is renound (and so he should be!) for getting his glazing choices perfectly in sync with the property, the redbrick lends itself for the black foiled windows and doors externally, however a bold statement to carry through. After the customer rightly so put her foot down the order was placed with the uPVC windows and doors being black on black. It is safe to say Mike has no hesitation in admitting this was 100% the right decision and really does add the character and individuality to the property.

A huge thank you to our fantastic customers for allowing us to create a really interesting August feature, this is a property we use as a stunning example with many of our potential future customers. A fantastic model of how vital the glazing choices can be when re designing your home!
