Home Renovations

Project Details

Lesley and Paul wanted to totally strip back their dated 70’s bungalow and give it a new lease of life, allowing us to do something a little different with the windows. Lesley had a clear vision of linking the exterior of the property with her timeless chic interior. Our industry now allows Hayley Windows and customers to reflect their interior themes within the new window designs. Gone are the days of only having white uPVC windows available and basic panel front doors!

The project began with gutting the property and re configuring the ground floor layout enabling the large open plan kitchen diner to open up into the garden. A dormer extension was added to create additional bedrooms necessary for the family. With all the building works completed Lesley was ready to immerse herself into creating her vision, when discussing her style with Mike, he provided his professional advice and suggested a coloured uPVC profile would work best. It was decided that a chalk white render was going to cover the property which immediately confirmed the decision to go with a Painswick foil on the uPVC windows and doors.

BEFORE & AFTER

Project Details

It is clear from the moment you step through the front door Lesley has an eye for style, working in the property industry paired with her own personal passion for interior really is apparent in the beautiful family home she has created.

Throughout the property there are high end fabrics, bespoke furniture and one off designer pieces balancing this  with shopping in high street suppliers, up cycled furniture and inexpensive materials adds to the charming shabby chic style and has kept the renovation in budget.

Much of the couples inspiration has come from boutiques in Salcombe and London such as Northwick interiors, Suzy Watson and India Jayne. It is inspiring to see how this luxurious finish can be created with a reasonable budget, the attention to detail from furniture and fabrics to vases and candles has created a fantastic finish to the renovation.

Project Details

The master bedroom and bathroom continue the luxurious show home feel being every girls dream! Again the clever use of high end fixtures and fittings paired with high street purchases have ensured Lesley and Paul did not go over budget. When deciding on the hardware for the windows and doors, we felt it was important to keep it simple with white inline handles inside and a splash of chrome only in the bathrooms.

The property really opens up as we head into the open plan kitchen dining area, clearly the heart of the home! The chic country style continues paired with modern day living with it being clear this is a real cook’s kitchen designed for entertaining. We kept the simple linear window design with no top openers maximising the garden view and in keeping with the French doors. Lesley chose a local seamstress to make the blinds and curtains, after sourcing her chosen material. Using recommended local trades people has been important and displayed throughout the whole project.

A huge thank you to Lesley and Paul for allowing us to photograph their beautiful home, it is so interesting and important for us to get an insight on a project from a customer’s point of view.
